To bring it back, just delete CrashOnCtrlScroll value or give it value: 0.
- Open Registry Editor by click Start –> Run, enter regedit in box and then press Enter.
- If you’re using a PS/2 keyboard, navigates to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Services \ i8042prt \ Parameters path. And if you’re using an USB keyboard, navigates to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Services \ kbdhid \ Parameters path.
- I am using a PS/2 keyboard now, so I navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Services \ i8042prt \ Parameters path. Then create a new DWORD value by right click on empty space on right panel, choose New -> DWORD value menu.
- Replace its original value to CrashOnCtrlScroll.
- Change its value data to 1 by double click CrashOnCtrlScroll value, replace the value data to 1 and then click OK button.
- Close Registry Editor and restart your computer.
- After your computers is restarted, press and hold right Ctrl button and then press Scroll Lock button twice. And your Windows XP will crash.
To bring it back, just delete CrashOnCtrlScroll value or give it value: 0.
